Stella Ojekwe-Onyejeli holds a First degree in Chemistry from the University of Lagos and an MBA in Cranfield School of Management in the UK. She attended Oxford Business School and the Wharton Business School, Philadelphia USA. She is a Chartered Finance and Tax Accountant, a Fellow of Institute Chartered Accountant of Nigeria, and a Member of the Oxford & Wharton Executive Education Alumni.

She is a highly experienced professional with 30 years extensive experience in financial advisory, control, governance, and risk management.

She was formerly Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer at the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA). Prior to joining the NSIA, she was a Director and Head of Operational Risk and Control at Barclays, where she covered 15 countries spanning Africa, Middle East and Asia, and the Vice President and Head of Quality Assurance, Africa, at Citibank, with direct oversight of the Enterprise Risk and Control Environment in 14 countries across Africa. She spent over a decade at professional services firms Arthur Anderson and KPMG in Nigeria and South Africa.
